Jake Lewis shot an impressive 74 to help the Green Hope Men’s Golf Team qualify for yet another State Championship Final berth. Also, teammate James Rico shot another consistent low score of 73 to spearhead GHHS’s charge into Pinehurst next week.
In fact, the whole GHHS team shot an impressive 301 total (5 players) with all players shooting in the 70’s. Only Pinehurst’s Pinecrest High School was able to better this score.
11 High Schools in total were at today’s regional event with Pinecrest, Green Hope, and Holly Springs automatically qualifying for next week’s State Final.
13 teams will compete in next week’s State Final at Pinehurst No. 8. And, in fact, only 3 teams qualified (Green Hope included) in such a manner that gave them the advantage of having 5 team members rather than 4. This is a significant asset for the GHHS team!
